It all started when...
I first heard the words “human potential movement” in the late 1960s; they caught my attention, quickly became a passionate exploration, and no matter what my title--I've spent the years since as a manager, trainer, facilitator, teacher, coach and student--I've explored what moves people toward realizing their highest potential.
My background is diverse and rich, with an undergraduate degree in journalism and two years of post-graduate work in English and education. I worked in advertising and corporate media relations, telecommunications, and as a secondary teacher of English and journalism. I also taught academic writing at the college level. In 2007 I moved to Shanghai China, where I lived for two years teaching English reading, writing, and speaking to business students at a Chinese university.
My coaching education includes professional coaching classes from 2001 to 2004. In 2012 I restarted my coaching business, Redefine the Edge, and shifted the focus of coaching from small business clients to writers. The satisfaction of working through writing projects with clients is deep and inspiring.
I am currently working on a novel as well as numerous small projects; I write almost every day. My writing interests include creative fiction and nonfiction, essays, poetry, and experimental/hybrid.
